Do I need Shadowdark to use Druskara?
Yes. Druskara is written specifically for the Shadowdark RPG system. While some ideas and lore could inspire games in other systems, the mechanics, monsters, and adventures are built for Shadowdark. There is a Quickstart guide on the Arcane Library website that will allow you to get started right away!
Also, most material—world lore, factions, locations, and adventures—can be adapted to other fantasy RPG systems with minimal effort.

Is this project already written?
Yes. Much of the content is already written and tested, and artwork is actively being produced. However, we still need to adapt the content to the final book format and this campaign helps fund the time it takes, and the final stages of illustration, printing, and production.

What happened to Unnatural Selection?
Unnatural Selection was originally released as a standalone Shadowdark supplement, but the material in that book was always part of the Druskara world.
For the Druskara campaign, that content has been folded into the main books. The classes, spells, and rules now appear in Spells & Specialties, while the monsters and treasure can be found in Fangs & Fortune.

Late Pledge Deadline?
Starting June 11, 2026, pre-order cards will be charged automatically on a daily basis. As we approach manufacturing, we will be closing the pre-order store for several months — but don’t worry, we’ll send multiple reminder updates well in advance so you have plenty of time to place your order. After fulfillment is complete and final counts are gathered, the store will reopen.

I want to upgrade my pledge, how do I?
There are a few ways to switch your pledge within the survey:
Method 1 — Get Started button On the survey landing page, locate the large green “Get Started” button. Just below it, you’ll find a “Switch my pledge” link — click that to begin.
Method 2 — Pledge amount at the top If you’ve already started your survey, click the dollar amount displayed at the top of the screen, then select “Switch pledge” to make your change.
Method 3 — In-survey upgrade prompt During the survey, you may be asked if you’d like to upgrade your pledge. Simply select the tier you want and any missing items will be added to your inventory automatically.
Already completed your survey? Try going back into your survey and editing your responses — this may re-trigger Methods 2 or 3 above. If that doesn’t work, reach out to us directly and we can process the switch manually. Please note that by requesting a manual pledge switch, you authorize us to charge the card on file. This is standard practice.

No need to worry — payments are processed automatically. If you’re concerned about a missed payment, once we run our first round of charges in the coming weeks, we’ll have the ability to manually charge cards on file as needed. You may also see options to complete payment on your end directly. Pay-over-time is new to us, so we don’t know everything. What we do know is that it splits the total over 4 months, with the option to pay it off early if you’d like. I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
